Thomas Jefferson On Slavery Essays - Thomas Jefferson,
Thomas Jefferson on Slavery We Hold these certainties to act naturally obvious, that all Men are made equivalent, that they are supplied by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness(Jefferson). These words are seemingly the most perceived words at any point written in American history and are the foundation of our nations right to opportunity. Thomas Jefferson, the creator of The Declaration of Independence, is one of only a handful not many recorded American pioneers that need no presentation. Jefferson was conceived on April thirteenth, 1743 in Albemarle province, Virginia. Jefferson was a man of numerous gifts that included, yet not constrained to, law, legislative issues, composing, design, and planting. The three accomplishments that Jefferson needed to be associated with, which were recorded on his gravestone, are, the essential creator of the Declaration of Independence, the presentation of the Virginia bill of strict freedom, and the establishing of the University of Virginia. Jefferson established the University of Virginia as well as He considered it, arranged it, planned it, and regulated the two its development and the employing of the faculty(Borden). Jefferson is viewed as one the best pioneers of America, yet one issue that pained him all through his lifetime was subjugation and his responsibility for than 2 00 slaves. The inquiry that puzzles most Americans is, how could the man who composed, All men are made equivalent own slaves? This inquiry has been posed again and again since the commencement of our incredible country. This is what contemporary Americans find generally vexing about him. So as to respond to this inquiry we initially should investigate the general public and times that Jefferson experienced childhood in and considered being the norm. In eighteenth century Virginia, subjection was the structure holding the system together. Servitude was the foundation of Virginias economy and was normal with estate proprietors of this time. Despite the fact that bondage was the standard in Jeffersons lifetime, this can't be utilized to legitimize his responsibility for. Jefferson stood up enthusiastically for an amazing duration against the organization of bondage, slave exchanging, and for the privilege of dark individuals to be free. The vast majority in todays society would most likely contend that he was a wolf in sheep's clothing for claiming slaves and simultaneously, upbraiding subjection. We should put ourselves in Jeffersons times and not judge on todays measures. Try not to botch me. I am not pushing servitude. I am legitimizing the wrongs we have submitted on remote peopleOn the opposite, there is nothing I would not forfeit to a practicable arrangement of annulling each remnant of this good and political corruption (Jefferson). The inquiry on his responsibility for ought to be expressed in progressively recorded terms: How did a man who was naturally introduced to a slave holding society, whose loved ones claimed slaves, who acquired a manor that was dependant on slave work, choose at an early age that the establishment of servitude was ethically off-base and pronounce that it ought to be canceled? At the point when we look at this inquiry in a progressively chronicled setting, it could be contended that Jefferson conflicted with his general public and his own personal circumstance to criticize bondage and urge its nullification. At the point when the subject of his possession is clarified along these lines, another inquiry generally follows: If Jefferson realized holding slaves wasn't right, for what reason did he keep on subjugating them. He didn't discharge any of his slaves while he was living, despite the fact that he gave five of them their opportunity in his will. Jeffersons choice to proceed with responsibility for is presumably one that can't be replied in the course of our life. One may contend that he required the work to keep up his estate, others may state that the slaves would not like to leave since they were dealt with so well. One more view that may be taken, was Jeffersons thought of liberation. Jefferson didn't accept that if slaves were given their opportunity and brought into the network, that they would have the option to absorb themselves into eighteenth-century Virginia. The cession of that sort of property, for so it is incorrectly named, is a bagatelle which would not lost me a qualm, if in that way a general liberation and exile could be affected; and step by step, and with due penances, I figure it may be(Jefferson). The response to

Newton Devised Four Rules For The System Of The World
Newton devised four rules for The System of the World. Rule one ââ¬Å"We are to admit no more causes of natural things than such as are both true and sufficient to explain their appearancesâ⬠(Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy). The purpose of this is that the philosophers say that nature does nothing for no reason, and more of it has a reason when less of it is assisted, because nature is satisfied with simplicity, and the affects do not display any extra causes. Rule two states that ââ¬Å"Therefore to the same natural effects we must, as far as possible, assign the same causesâ⬠(Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy). What is meant here is pretty self-explanatory but for an example letââ¬â¢s say that a human and an animal bothâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦We are not to retreat from the analogy of Nature, which is this is not a simple undertaking that will always be in agreement with itself. There is no other way we know the limits of our bodies and our keen senses and some will never reach this limit in their bodies. It is stated the even though there is an abundance of these bodies, we learn by experience. All these bodies are impermeable, we do not gather from reason, but from the sensation. Being that these bodies are impermeable we can then conclude that this is a universal property of all these bodies. These bodies have extension, hardness, impermeable, mobility, it can then be said that there are particles that contribute to these extensions. These particles of our bodies could possibly be separated from each other making this a matter of observation and if these particles remain unseparated, then we may be able to deduce even lesser particles and may be conclude the findings mathematically. The trick to this is whether or not these lesser can be, but is could be possible by the powers of Nature that the particles are actually separated from each other making it undeterminable. Isnââ¬â¢t this is the foundation of all philosophy, where we ask these important question of what if or what else and etcetera. The last and final rule, rule four states ââ¬Å"In experimental philosophy we are to look, upon propositions inferred by general

Bioinformatics - Solving Biological Problems Using DNA and Amino Acid Sequences 1. Introduction In the wake of Genomic revolution, biology that used to be a lab-based science has transformed to embrace Information science. Human Genome Project is a 13-year project focusing on identifying approximately 30,000 genes in human DNA. The information found is stored in databases, analyzed and used for different purposes like simplifying diagnosis of disease, earlier detection of genetic predisposition to specific disease, custom drugs, gene therapy, gene replacement technologies [1]. Technological advancement has been one of the contributors for the early completion of this project. Computer technology has facilitated inâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦It is a new science that has been stimulated by recent work on gene sequences such as the Human Genome Project, designed to sequence all of the human chromosomes. In addition to the Human Genome Project, there has been a sudden growth of quantitative data in biology such as protein sequences, protein 3-D structures, metabolic pathway databases. This has made data capture, data warehousing and data mining to become major issues for biotechnology and biological scientists. Bioinformatics applies the latest database techniques and smart mathematical algorithms to gene and protein sequence information in the search for new medical drug leads. 100.0% / 1026 words / In many cultures throughout hi Essay Example For Students
100.0% / 1026 words / In many cultures throughout hi Essay In many cultures throughout history, women have been viewed as the weaker sex. This status has constructed certain expectations of women. With women being viewed as lesser than, it justifies unfair behavior such as lower wages. This behavior elicits contradictory thoughts about women, claiming they should bare the world, but have no power within it. Unlike men, women are thought to expire quickly, as if they are wasted if not used. These thoughts are perfectly depicted in Anne Bradstreetââ¬â¢s poems ââ¬Å"The Prologueâ⬠and ââ¬Å"The Author to Her Book,â⬠along with Maxine Kuminââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Sonnets Uncorseted.â⬠With these poems, we are able to witness womenââ¬â¢s ability to find a voice through clever utilization of the female apology during a time of complete male domination. First, through Pariniââ¬â¢s book ââ¬Å"Why Poetry Matters,â⬠we will be able to see the ways poets and their works have pushed boundaries and resisted against oppressors thr oughout time. In a time when philosophy was king, Parini explains how poetry was its greatest adversary; Plato warned against poets and their ideas out of fear that they would corrupt the youth of Athens (3). This left poets in fear of exposure, as the nature of a poet is to push boundaries. Plato would frequently refer to poets as ââ¬Å"imitators of nature,â⬠which would surely corrupt the young. However, not everyone felt this way; Aristotle agreed with Plato, but he did not see these ââ¬Å"imitationsâ⬠as damaging. Instead, he saw beauty and life within poets expression through figurative language. In the 18th-19th century, poetry transformed from this ancient perspective and began to take a new form. It became the defiant proclamation against authority as we are more familiar with today (4-11). With Bradstreet and Kuminââ¬â¢s poetry, we are able to see how these women are beyond their time, Bradstreet dating to the 17th century, and Kumin discussing the same time period. In Bradstreetââ¬â¢s poem ââ¬Å"The Prologue,â⬠she frequently discusses her writings, often comparing them to scholarly men during the colonial era. She admits she will never be considered among the greats, like Bartas and Demosthenes. However, she doesnââ¬â¢t aspire to write like them. She would rather her writing style remain simple and her own. With these references to famous poets, she admits she does aspire to be of that stature. However, she is quick to point out that all of the poets she has referenced are all men. In stanza three, she subtly blames her lack of artistic voice on her being a women, or rather, the fact that she is not a man. ââ¬Å" alas, no art is able / ââ¬Ëcause nature made it so irreparableâ⬠(The Prologue lines 17-18). She continues in stanza five, beginning to get more bold in her claims; she refutes those who tell her that her hand is meant for a needle and thread, not ââ¬Å"a poetââ¬â¢s penâ⬠(26-27). She fears that even if s he had the opportunity as a women to write freely, it would be thought that she stole her ideas from a man or it was sheer luck. ââ¬Å"The Author to Her Book,â⬠is written in response to her poems being published without her permission. She has a common theme among her poems, especially this one, using self-deprecating humor as a way to get her point across. For example, she begins with a very witty and quipped metaphor, comparing her writing to a child who had been birthed from her ââ¬Å"feeble brainâ⬠(The Author to Her Book line 1). She is upset at her friends for publishing her book without allowing her the chance to correct the mistakes, eliciting another metaphor that compares her unpolished work to a washed face with dirt still remaining (12-14). Although, she is unhappy with her published work, she canââ¬â¢t help loving it, because it is her own. She does revert back to her tongue-and-cheek humor, asking her audience to excuse the flaws within her poems, as she was not raised by a man, only a women, and a poor one at that (22-23). The use of her metaphors relating her book to a child hel ps further her previous points that writing poetry is something a women can, and should do. Women were built by God to create, so why stifle the conception? Maxine Kumin further illustrates many of Bradstreetââ¬â¢s feelings. Although she is not of the same time period as her, she writes in ââ¬Å"Sonnets Uncorsetedâ⬠about Margaret Cavendish and her experiences in that time. Contradictory to Platoââ¬â¢s aforementioned opinions in Pariniââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Why Poetry Matters,â⬠Cavendish was both a philosopher and poet (3). In Kuminââ¬â¢s first stanza, she illuminates the reality for women in the 1600s, excluding that of Cavendish. Women were thought of as property, and unless one married off, she would have no meaning. Their dowry equals their worth, and yet they are forbidden to own anything themselves. Only prized for their childbearing abilities, women suffered greatly for their trophy (Kumin lines 9-10, 14-16). However, Cavendish was relieved of her womanly duties, as she was barren, allowing her to pour her energy and love into her writing. Kumin continues by comparing Cavendish to her husband: him, writing proper bo oks on ââ¬Å"the art of dressage,â⬠and her, writing ââ¬Å"goofy utopian fantasâ⬠and a vast variety of other subjects (30-33). Kumin applauds Cavendishââ¬â¢s ability to break through the barriers of her time, not caring about what others may say or think. She refused to let anyone or anything stifle her imagination and creativity. Women have been silenced for centuries, but through their art, these women have been able to overcome their boundaries in a time of male domination. As said by Parini,ââ¬Å"poets are the wayward ones, the voices of protest against authority, the defenders of powerful feeling over fierce intellection, the abettors of all forms of disgusting and irreverent behaviorâ⬠(4). These women have demonstrated the ability to not be limited by the limitations of their society. Through their clever use of the female apology and figurative language, they are able to have their voices heard. We must understand the expectations and pressures women have faced throughout history, and the ways they have broken free in hopes of fixing them in the future. .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 , .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .postImageUrl , .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 , .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7:hover , .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7:visited , .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7:active { border:0!important; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7:active , .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7 .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ud3e9bb5f1abe24b95e7e1253259651c7:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: An Unforgettable Day Essay

Thomas Paine Common Sense Essay Example
Thomas Paine Common Sense Essay Christian Arnold November 28, 2010 Thomas Paine At the beginning of 1776, Thomas pain was a novelist who came to America on Ben Franklinââ¬â¢s request. He was famous for writing the book ââ¬Å"Common senseâ⬠which was basically about expressing current idea to capture the attention of the public. Pain was also very skilled in style more than thoughts. He spent most of his early life in England experiencing personal failures and experiments. The connection between religion and government was simple. Thomas Paine attacked all forms of religion meaning he didnââ¬â¢t have a specific religion he worshiped so that means he wasnââ¬â¢t Christian, he was more towards a atheist. At that time he felt Englandââ¬â¢s government was very unconstitutional, meaning basically the people had no rights. So he made concepts relating to government easy for people to understand . Paineââ¬â¢s view of religion was also very plain he had no real religion to fall back on. Basically whatever was in at that time he went on and went with. He did this in order to reach the colonist who didnââ¬â¢t have an idea of what he was talking about. Paine was successful in expressing current Ideas that caught the publics attention. Thomas pains view of equality related to America against Britain was the division from England when America and France entered the political scene which unrepairably shouldââ¬â¢ve declare their independence, this called colonist to unite with him for the fight for their independence. Because, after the major defeat in the first battle he wrote the first ââ¬Å"American Crisisâ⬠paper, which was so persuasive that Washington did not hesitate to order a reading to the troops. ââ¬Å"Independence is now the only bond that will keep us together. We shall then see one object, and our ears will be legally shut against the schemes of an intriguing, as well as cruel, enemy. We shall then, too, be on a proper footing to treat with Great Britain; for there is reason to conclude that the pride of that court will be less hurt by treating with the American States for terms of peace, than with those whom she denominates rebellious subjects for terms of accommodationâ⬠, stated Pain. Thomas Pain was an excellent role model for early American history, his achievements are noted throughout history as you can see. Thomas Pain was at times a complete jerk and had no regard for the human race but on the other hand he made life easier for people to understand by creating this famous book ââ¬Å"Common Senseâ⬠. The article points out to the fact that farming policies and the values of farmers do matter when it comes to making sustainable development in the area and reap benefits from the agricultural industry. The author sheds light on the fact that success in the agricultural field can be achieved through the proper understanding of the impact of cultures on farming. This is because every race has a different history and heritage which further has an impact on their objectives, visions and their accessibility to farmlands. This tends to have an impact on the way that every race manages the farms owned by them. The article describes that a wide diversity of farmers makes it more feasible to progress and gain economic benefits from the cultural farming legacies. Having a diverse farming structure doe s not necessarily mean that the business is bound to expand or grow in a profitable manner but can also cause a conflict in this agricultural dynamic change. It should also be noted that there is no gender equality when it comes to farming practices. Where in some cultures women are more involved than men in the trade, it might be the opposite in others. If a country needs to prosper, then the agricultural side of it should be dealt with on both federal and state levels. This ensures both sides of the party to benefit.

Capstone Research Project (5) Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Capstone Project (5) - Research Paper Example GAAP rule works in connection with SEC rules for public companies. GAAP rule emphasizes on covering financial statements presented in balance sheet for at least three years. GAAP need to work closely with SEC regulations in order to measure performance of companies. In accordance to GAAP guideline interim periods must be viewed as essential part of financial year. This guideline helps accountants to allocate cost elements for different financial period. GAAP also focuses on examining unscrupulous transactions in order to identify financial frauds. Although GAAP rules differ on the basis of accounting standards of different countries. Financial fraud is multi dimensional event in terms of variety of impact and nature of fraud. In many cases financial analysts of companies intentionally forecast inflated market capitalization value in order to fulfill dubious objective. Companies practicing unethical business tend to violate GAAP rules in order to gain personal objectives. Financial fr aud can impact various issues such as trade and sales, stock market valuation and investment banking contracts significantly. Many companies use street earning method to calculate earnings per share (EPS) while the method excludes important elements of accounting such as unusual items, extraordinary charges, Charges from mergers and depreciation (Ponzio, 2010, p. 32). Fraudulent companies change GAAP rules in accordance to their requirement in order to satisfy personal objective. Following section will try to explore relationship between GAAP rules and situation mentioned in the Capstone Research Project. 2.0 Leases on Technology Assets Seem Inflated 2.1 Current Lease Accounting GAAP suggests that Current Lease Accounting standard needs to classify their contract as operating lease (all leases except capital lease) or capital lease (this type of lease transfer risks as well as rewards to lessee due to ownership). Amount of capital lease such as payment of rental can be identified fr om examining the balance sheet. GAAP rule suggests that auditor needs to check capital lease by applying depreciation on assets while such thing is not possible for operating lease. According to GAAP in operating lease the lessee does not realize the amount of leased asset from balance sheet but the person can recognize operating lease expenses. Auditors have criticized the shenanigan approach of GAAP to ignore operating lease. Current lease accounting standard has not identified any special measure in case excessive operating lease. Sometimes operating lease can give rise liabilities such as rental payment hence auditors try to capitalize leased assets. Accountants need to follow criteria specified in ASC 840 (SFAS 13) of GAAP to investigate capital lease. According to GAAP rules capital lease needs to follow (ASC 840-10-25-1) (SFAS 13.7) guideline. Accountants need to check proper valuation of leased property in order to identify financial fraud. According to GAAP rules leased tem should not be less than seventy five percent

City of Mount Rainier Essay Example for Free
City of Mount Rainier Essay Neither does the department of Economic Development for the City of Mount Rainier handle nor is it involved with any matrix of the pricing strategy. As the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in 2006 stated on production, packaging and pricing, production cycle involves a flow from the dealers, employees and customers automatically between the functional areas and internationally. Reduced ââ¬Ëproduct to marketââ¬â¢ cycle meant to ensure full and on time delivery to customers keeps a business on track by reducing errors, inefficiencies and high running costs. However, the City does offer a mix of products solely based on promoting development of blighted or under used parcels. Thus, it is critical that any incentive or business assistance be directed to accomplish the marketing objectives of the City of Mount Rainier. For example, the city will offer or sponsor Tax Increment Financing, State grants or Infrastructure Grants to developers to increase interest and make the area more attractive. This is very necessary for the City to be able to compete with other local municipalities and the District of Columbia, making it imperative for the City to use incentives for redevelopment of the downtown business district. Especially considering that the addition of businesses will create higher paying jobs, large capital investment, tourism and greater benefits to the local community. With this in mind, its primary objective is to add to the diversity of the current business population, increase essential tax base in the area, and pursue the highest quality of jobs and investment by providing an overall balanced approach to economic development for the City. Organizations channel design. A good organizationsââ¬â¢ channel design enables exchange of information and ideas with external or outsourced personnel such as financial assistants, engineers, designers, and other partners. It is a system that provides solutions including help to speed up development processes and enhance further future improvements in efficiency With this the City of Mount Rainier can be able to streamline the entire value chain, including all key suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers. The system platform raises transparency of production processes, permitting them to identify potential problems at an early stage, and to take immediate action. According to Kotler and Keller (2008), ââ¬Å" a marketing channel performs the work of moving products from producers to consumers, overcoming the time, place, and possession gaps that separate goods and services from those that want themâ⬠(p. 232). The Department of Economic Development for the City of Mount Rainier employs a two ââ¬âlevel channel of marketing with at least two intermediaries. The Cityââ¬â¢s intermediately roles are that of an agent and facilitator. Attracting entrepreneurs and private investment opportunities is the primary goal of economic development in the City of Mount Rainier. As for the Department of Economic Development, the greatest aspiration is to turn around Mount Rainier, making the City one of the best places in the world in which to start a profession or grow a business. The department is working to reposition Mount Rainier as the next great American city for business investment and economic opportunity. This entails employing a balanced attack with corresponding efforts to improve business development, while pursuing transformative public policy changes planned to enhance the magnetism of Mount Rainier as a place in which to invest. On the other hand, an integrated logistics system consists of materials management, material flow systems, and although the City of Mount Rainier does not use such a system as a tool for economic development, A fully integrated accurate unit tracking system is a critical component of modern customer relations and service that is in use, and it is also important for inventory and cost control. Just like integrated logistics system, it monitors all the key movements of goods and services in any transaction. Tracking of the way financial agreements are facilitated for business assistance is important because the gathered data is useful for financial analysis. In support of business analysis, the system ought to have a tool that provides the reporting intelligently. (OECD, 2006) Business information across all assistants can be automatically converted into business intelligence reports benchmarking the performance of the business transactions. At the same time analysis on dealerships can show the best business practices for individual or the group of partners. Marketing and communication strategy Considering that City of Mount Rainier is recognizing a need for business retention and attraction efforts, they have partnered with other public and private businesses stakeholders to create an Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to promote the City and its business advantages and opportunities to local, regional, national and international markets. The purpose of the EDC is to enhance the economic vitality of the City and its residents through creating marketing initiatives, business retention programs, business attraction efforts and dissemination of information. Created as a public-private partnership, the EDC can generate business leads and opportunities that the City could otherwise not do, furthering development. In addition, this partnership serves as the first line of contact with the public, business prospects and developers who are seeking information about doing business in the City. Furthermore, the EDC facilitates development, cultivates business opportunities and creates partnerships that will result in increased economic development in the City of Mount Rainier. The question remains, which supreme marketing and communication strategy would boost this collaboration for better growth? For any company to prosper in any of its transactions, a strong and optimal management system ought to be put in place. In line with Poirier and Reiter, (1996), success in a company is enhanced by rapid and reliable exchange of data within its group members and with its business partners. This is vital to the further development products and deliverance of quality services. Technically one important communication strategy would calls for a highly effective communications infrastructure that allows effective coordination and management of highly complex, highly flexible development, design and production processes. In line with Poirier and Reiter, on Advanced Planning and Optimization in (1996), the main aims of marketing managers should be to process aftermarket into one system, plan for wide coverage and include all parties involved in the planning process. P. 160) In other words, high-speed data communications have to be one of the engines driving the growth of any organization or company offering services or dealing with businesses stakeholders. Any marketing strategy should take establishment and enhancement of a quality communications infrastructure in it key aims. This is a reliable system that ought to augment cooperation among virtual elements regardless of their position at the time of requirement. It permits all around the globe contribution to projects without duplication or underutilization of human effort or technical resources. Consideration for one of the various information systems and networks is a standard solution that can be tailored to particular needs. A system that supports all the data and allows for data interchange with outside suppliers and other partners naturally always gives a good return on investment. This is not a matter of just laying down the network system within the company. Efficiency, Security, reliability and scalability of the system are some of the vital parts to be fulfilled by a system so as to support diverse access methods and service levels. As Poirier and Reiter emphasizes, a good system is one that can be geared to the needs of each individual supplier and business partner. (P. 160). Needless to say, this new ways of revitalizing the Cityââ¬â¢s commercial corridors by encouraging continued and private investment, would highly revitalize strategies allowing the city to target its assistance and support in ways that are sustainable at the local level.

The United States of Leland :: essays research papers
In the movie, ââ¬Å"The United States of Leland,â⬠Leland Fitzgerald commits a murder and becomes the center of attention as people try to understand why he did it. The only person Leland trusts is Pearl, the juvenile hall teacher and aspiring writer who helps Leland to examine the truth of his crime. Unknown to Leland, Pearl had his own agenda, and uses Leland to obtain material for a book. Pearl does this until he begins to see that Leland is giving him something he never expected. Leland is not given the concrete answer Pearl seeks, but the realization that now is the time to change his own life for the better. Leland is a soft spoke fifteen-year-old boy that appeared to be headed in the right direction despite his unusual background and past life. He moved around from place to place, with no foundation or person to attach himself to. His background and past actions, being as they were, did not show signs that would prove him a criminal. The movieââ¬â¢s organization was very confusing and messy towards the beginning, but was done on purpose. This disorganization parallels the disorganization of Lelandââ¬â¢s thinking and feelings. He began talking with Pearl. The relationship seemed to be one that was to help Leland figure out his reason of committing murder, but in actuality the words and reasoning of life Leland gave allowed us to relate our mistakes with his. As various people try to deal with Leland's murder they all expose their own mistakes and we get to see how different people deal with them. The most telling message comes from the conversations between Leland and Pearl. Pearl is not a great guy himself - he's a liar, drinks too much, cheats on his girlfriend, and uses others for his own benefit. He is called on a lot of this and responds with the usual "I'm only human" lines until Leland calls even those into question. Leland asks, "How come people only say that when they've done som ething bad - never when they save a baby from a burning building?" He gets Pearl to admit that he wanted to do those wrong things and that is why he did it. Pearl realizes that he had no excuse for what he did and needs to deal with it. It is scenes like these that pull us away from contemplating Leland's crime and forces us to deal with our own motives.

Article Rebuttal Essay
The author stated that, ââ¬Å"There is a difference between a married couple and a same-sex couple in a long-term relationship. The difference is between the duties that marriage imposes on married peopleââ¬ânot rights, but rather onerous obligationsââ¬âwhich do not apply to same-sex love. â⬠This statement, in my opinion, is completely untrue. All relationships can be difficult and time consuming, the statement would have more truth if the author of was talking about all relationships or marriages. When reading the article, I took every word as people that are in a same sex relationship canââ¬â¢t have a normal marriage or a normal family and normal life and that is why same sex marriage will ultimately fail. The only thing that is different about same sex marriage is that the genders of both people are the same. This doesnââ¬â¢t mean that the two people canââ¬â¢t have children, it just means they canââ¬Ët have them in the traditional way. Homosexuals that are married can have a normal life; they just might have to face other judgmental people, which they face even without being married. This author had no credibility, no fact or anything to back up his argument. There were not any reliable sources in this argument which makes me believe that everything about this article was just the opinion of the author. While I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I believe one should have reliable sources and make valid points before writing an article and making it public especially on such a controversial topic.
